RHC Foster Care Services

“My Family Home” was created by RHC as an extension of our  emergency respite services, with the intention of meeting the long-term needs of individuals whose preference was to seek out or remain in supportive family environments. 

During the formative years of “My Safe Place”, the RHC housing alternative for individuals needing short-term care in response to unplanned, sometimes emergent situations, staff noticed how individuals responded positively to the smaller family units, as they appeared to create a sense of balance and security that had not previously existed in the person’s life.  RHC Host families have safe and comfortable homes with adequate space to ensure individual privacy. 

Requirements to be a Foster Family Services Provider include:

• Valid Drivers License
• Reliable and insured vehicle
• Completion of required training on abuse, neglect, and mistreatment.
• First Aid/CPR
• A criminal background check based on fingerprinting for everyone 18 years of age and older in the household.  Criminal background checks are completed before being accepted as a provider and randomly thereafter.
• Drug tests are completed before being accepted as a provider and randomly thereafter.
• Complete home inspections by monitoring entities.
