RHC Foster Family Services

One of many residential options offered by RHC is housing in established family homes.  RHC developed these foster care services as an alternative to traditional congregate housing, such as group homes.

In the early to mid 1980’s, large institutions all over the country were closing due to the poor standards of living in large state-run institutions.  These closings challenged communities to develop residential services for all the potential new citizens.  RHC’s Foster Family Services provide housing, both short and long term, to individual’s who best respond to living in an established family home situation.

The following services are available to familes and individuals with MR/DD in the tri-state area:

Emergency Residential Services

Foster Care Services

Planned Respite Support

Funding and Eligibility: Foster Family Services are a possibility for anyone funded through a County Board of MR/DD Supported Living or IO Waiver or by any other agency funding services for individuals needing assistance in some aspect of living.
